Tier:

All sales staff report directly to and work under STEELFAB President/General Manager and coordinate with Project Management, Purchasing, Superintendent, Foreman, Shipping, Inside Sales Staff, Warehouse and Counter Sales Staff.

Duties and Abilities:

Include the ability to work independently, show knowledge of steel materials, steel fabrication, industry expectations, customer expectations, ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing, maintain a professional working ethic both in company and outside customer relationships.

Responsibilities, but not limited to are:

  1. Estimate Structural Steel Fabrication using and understanding of FabTrol MRP Software. In-house training will be provided but knowledge of the software is a plus. Estimates will include material takeoffs, buyout items, weights, surface area and shop/division hours required.
  2. Estimate Coating/Painting (also through FabTrol MRP Software).
  3. A working knowledge of all fabrication equipment, understanding the functions with how this equipment will be utilized in the process of fabrication.
  4. Understanding and Demonstrate abilities working with Microsoft Office 365 including Outlook, Word, Excel and Scheduling.
  5. Ability to read and understand for construction & fabrication blueprints and shop drawings. This includes but is not limited to being comfortable discussing possible alternatives and recommendations that will meet the client needs.
  6. Ability to read and understand concept sketches and how to translate wishes into an award project.
  7. Ability to think outside the box and to understand customer needs regarding requests for quotes. Many times blueprints are not available or project has not been finalized-it is a plus to understand fabrication and demonstrate this knowledge of assistance to the customers.
  8. Understand STEELFAB fabrication process and procedural workflow and make sure estimates are realistic with all company and customer divisions including interact with other key team members.
  9. Understand and provide realistic Scope Lead Times (Scheduling).
  10. Provide and maintain a traceable filing system including job numbering, proposals, proposal updates, sub quotes and customer communications such as logging and filing all emailed transmittals and conversations (maintain a complete auditable customer logging system).
  11. Ability to understand contracts, negotiate contracts, understand confidentiality, copyrights and proprietary documents and legal obligations.
  12. Ability to work with suppliers, understand lead times for this material and negotiate realistic timeline expectations, including but not limited to subcontract work and billing requirements.

Education:

5 Years of estimating structural steel, miscellaneous steel and other fabrication projects preferred.

Work Schedule:

Full time Monday-Friday (8-hour work schedule per working day/40 hours per working week).

Salary:

Dependent on your ability to demonstrate qualifications and commensurate to position of hire.

Conclusion:

You will be working closely with Company Management, Project Management, Quality Control and Quality Assurance, Safety Officer, Shop Superintendents, Material Buyers and Drawing Detailers.
