Re-locatable Shop Building

Doyon Re-locatable building

Doyon Re-locatable building

STEELFAB recently engineered and constructed an exciting new project for Doyon Drilling that shows the advantages of building with U.S.A. forged steel: a re-locatable shop building designed to stand up to the Arctic’s harsh conditions and provide a safe, secure facility for storing and maintaining equipment right at the drill site. When fully assembled, the building sits 30 feet wide, 50 feet long, 26 feet tall with a standard 5 ton crane. While this is not STEELFAB’s first re-locatable building it is their largest non-modular building in both size and weight. It is currently being transported to the North Slope on six trucks in 50 pieces weighting a total of 200,000 pounds.

Two “bison boxes” manufactured by STEELFAB leave the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center yesterday bound for the airport where the wood bison were flown to Shageluk where they will be released back into the wild. Wood bison disappeared from Alaska 100 years ago.
